Sam Laorenza began his career in Financial Planning at Northwestern Mutual in 2009, during which time he set the record as the top producing intern in the history of the Wellesley agency. Through 2010-2011, Sam was the number one new financial representative producer in the eastern region for Northwestern Mutual, and he was honored in New York City at the company's regional meeting for this prestigious achievement. In 2013, Sam qualified for the Lives Leaders’ Summit conference for the first time, which represents the top 5% of advisors across the company. Sam has been recognized in multiple times as a Forum Advisor, which represents the top 3% of company overall production, and has been recognized multiple times as a 4 Star-Pathfinder honoree in celebration of his achievement in comprehensive financial planning.
Like his business partner, Nick, Sam has earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation, the standard of excellence in the financial services industry. He also earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), and the Certification in Long Term Care (CLTC®) designations. Sam works with executives at publicly traded companies as well as with management consultants. In 2022, Sam was named “Advisor of the Year” in the Boston agency, a true testament to his hard work and commitment to his clients and service. His planning works help to optimize employee benefits and personal financial planning with risk, wealth, and tax management strategies.
A UMass Amherst alum, Sam studied Business and Finance and was a four-year participant and a three-year captain on the varsity Track and Field team. He has served on the Advisory Board for the Commonwealth Honors College since 2013. Additionally, Sam has been involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program as a mentor since September 2017.
On a personal level, Sam and his wife, Katie, were married in August 2016. They welcomed their daughter, Lucy, in January 2020 and son, Jack, in February 2024. They currently live in Reading, Massachusetts. Outside of the office, they enjoy traveling, concerts, running marathons, and spending time with friends, family, and their dog, Dylan.
